THINGS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME

I hopped on a FaceTime with Rita after she reached out saying she wanted some maternity photos but really didn't have a vision. After a few mins of getting to know her she revealed that her husband is an architect and they were about to move out of the home he designed. Instantly I knew we would have to have the session at their home to hit two birds with one stone: maternity with farewell home.

I was immediately inspired by the house. I created a concept deck for Rita and the family so that everyone knew what to expect and also to make sure my vision was aligned with Rita's style and vibe — something I do for all my Legacy clients.

We started out in the kitchen. Rita made a fruit and cheese plate while the boys and Luis had an art contest. “Who could draw the best clown”, I think I'm finding my people!

We originally had to reschedule the shoot because of rain, which I normally wouldn't do for an in-home session, but I could not miss out on shooting in their amazing backyard.

The whole session felt so chill and relaxed, exactly the kind of authentic, real-life maternity photography I love creating for families in DFW. I can't wait to do their Fresh 48 in June!!!
